I’m working on building a native privacy dashboard into my own game. With regards to Unity Analytics, I’m using the following to turn features on\off (found via numerous forum posts)…
@PeachyPixels Do you need these services? Generally you would only enable services if you plan to use them. If they are not initially enabled in the Services window, there is no need to disable them. For user privacy in legacy Analytics, you might consider the Privacy Button prefab https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/UnityAnalyticsDataPrivacy.html . For the Analytics beta, there is a separate flow and there is more information here Data privacy and consent Also, to confirm exactly what services you have enabled and to see what information your app may be sending, you can use Charles Proxy, a very handy (and free) tool to use for the initial confirmation. https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002917683-Using-Charles-Proxy-with-Unity . Fiddler would also work.
Thanks for the reply and apologies for the lateness of mine.
In fairness, I’ve only surfaced Personalised Analytics and Personalised Ads currently in the game dashboard. The other two are more developer options. But I’m after a native experience, which the privacy button does not really offer (being web based)
That said, after looking over the new beta analytics I’ve decided to take the hit and switch over now (before game release) so I guess most of the above are now redundant anyway.
I’ll look into the privacy options of the new analytics and ask in the forum if stuck.
One question though… do you know if PerformanceReporting is still valid with the new analytics please?
Performance reporting is a separate service from Analytics. If you are currently using it, it should continue to operate. To confirm which services might be sending information, use Charles Proxy or Fiddler.
