I am told that Unity does not like max dummy objects and they should not be included in your FBX export. Is there any truth to this?

I didn’t think Unity had any particular problem with dummy objects, but if you mark a dummy (or any object) as a bone (via Animation > Bone Tools…) it gets converted into a bone during the FBX conversion step.
I always have dummy objects and haven’t had any trouble so far.
No dummy problems from Max here either
