Unity Animation.play

I’m trying to make it so that when you walk into the box collider area of an NPC, it triggers an animation. I looked up how to play the animation (I already knew, I was just double checking), and saw Animation.play, which is what i was using. So, I figured that I was correct, and tested my script and it gave me an error:

MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'UnityEngine.Animation.play'.

Can anybody tell me why/what happened? Tell me if you need my script or some more information, also.

It is “animation.Play.” Not “Animation.Play”
