Hey guys, I’ve been trying past 3 or 4 days now to ask a question on Unity Answers.
I keep getting the error
"The following topics are not present in the system, and you don’t have permissions to create new ones: "
I’ve already passed 50 reputation points or whatever it is, I’ve been able to create new ones, why can’t I do it now?
It’s not even popping up ones to select, am I in trouble or something?

It’s probably your tags. We just recently asked to move the karma threshold for creating new tags up dramatically. Try using some of the existing tags from the drop down list and see what happens.
I don’t have a drop down list, that’s the problem lol.
It took me forever when I first start to figure out the drop down list (Can’t remember how to find it) Could of sworn I just start typing and topics would pop up or whatever.)

You are correct. The general idea is you start typing and the list comes up.

What tag are you trying to create? We are trying to consolidate duplicate and get rid of unused tags and ones that don’t make sense like “harry potter” (real tag lol).

99% of the time the very first one I always type is Unity3d just out of habit lol.
Then I may type stuff like GUI, Networking, you know just straight to the point stuff lol.

We’ve been deleted tags such as “Unity3D”, just because everything on UA should be Unity-related by default.
We need tags that are more specific and help both users and Unity staff to find questions within their expertise easier.
Are the tags “GUI” and “Networking” not working for you? Because those tags still exist. Currently creating new tags is an admin-only permission.
A page with the changes we do in UA will be coming up this week, and the link will be on the right-hand side where the FAQ and Moderator Guidelines page links are.

Well, I haven’t tried them on my most recent “ask”.
I honestly don’t remember what I typed in a few days ago.
Something along the lines of ‘Image Effects’
But I’ll keep a look out for the new link 
Yeah, so basically what’s been deleted are tags that have been used 3 times or less (so far), but the plan is to clean up tags based on usage every week.
There is a tag called “image-effects” which has been used around 100 times, but the tag “image-effect” was only used twice so it got deleted.
