I have the Samsung S6 phone running Lollipop 5.1.1. Before I did the latest Oculus update yesterday, my phone might crash launching a Unity APK file once every couple of weeks. By crash I mean, instead of loading the “Made with Unity Screen” it just boots me to the Samsung VR Home Screen. However, taking my phone out of the GearVR and running the app again usually works. I have seen this happen on another S6 phone as well. But today it’s happening constantly. I can barely get into a Unity app including the APK that was the winner of the VRJAM.
I am developing a GearVR game in Unity myself. But its incredibly difficult for me to test it because I have to take my phone in and out of the GearVR about 3 - 6 times each test. Is there a way for me to see the Unity error message before my code even starts? I do have ways to view the console after I get past the “Made with Unity” screen but not before it.
I tried installing Unity to 5.3.3f1 on another computer with a fresh install Android SDK and JDK and set my project to Lollipop 5.1.1. But same result. Most of the time I run I get booted to the home screen before the “Made with Unity” screen appears.
