Unity Application Performance Problems

Around 4 weeks or so, I started to detect a little delay when going out, or coming into Unity from another application (script editor, photoshop, finder, anyone).

There was a subtle sound on the disk right before the computer unfroze. Then I thought it was a disk problem and I changed it.

However, the problem persists, and the delay is getting longer, now even performing Unity’s tasks, to the point that I need to restart the computer and only use Unity to get some responsiveness.

I have a MacBook Pro, 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo, with 2G RAM, 320G HD and OSX 10.5.5

Please help,

Have you looked at Activity Monitor (or Shark) to see what’s going on perhaps?

Is that happening when you have your project open, or just the Unity IDE?

I have looked at the activity monitor but I don’t see a process consuming the processor cycles, not even Unity.

This is happening when I have a project open with the IDE (sorry, but I don’t understand the difference).
