Unity Asset Store and Tax/VAT

Hi all,

I have now been reading through forum posts for a few days, and read the legal agreements, but i am still unsure. some of the language seems to go either way and its just really confusing for me.

so i am hoping someone who has experience could answer me a few questions just to clarify.

i am a one man startup, in canada. and want to sell a few assets on unity asset store.
how does tax from customers get handled?

it seems that in some cases unity takes care of that for me, in others people file them themselves.
so lets say if i get sales from the US, and from a few EU countries. do i need to file proper tax with IRS, and each of the VAT countries?
or is the sale between customer and Unity, and they file the proper applicable taxes and i just get a check/deposit and only have to worry about income tax?

ideally i would like to hear from someone from canada, but i appreciate all insights into the confusing world of international tax.

thanks in advance

Income tax is always handled by you. Sales taxes are always handled by the store.
