Unity asset store login: DBI error

I tried loging in to the asset store from a unity client using different accounts and different computers. I don’t have any firewall enabled or any antivirus installed. Each time I get “Logging in to server…” followed by “DBI” error message highlighted in red. There is a similar thread which described the same problem and received no replies:

I hope there aren’t only two people including me that encountered this problem. I would really appreciate some clues or even better, a solution to my problem. Thank you.

Same for me with the vr editor. I got the sdk from git. But i need access to my purchases as well.

Can’t add the vive support from the store if I cant sign in!

Update:
I was getting failure to login into asset store under 5.43 (getting DBI error), so imported steamvr using unity 5.5, exported it, then imported it into 5.43 (installed in another home).

This editor is brilliant stuff , great work. Cant wait to see it evolve … !
