Have you heard of Atmosphir? It’s a 3rd person platformer with completely player-created levels currently in beta (I’m in this beta). Recently they said they were transitioning from their current engine which they wrote from the ground up to a third party engine that will allow them to have:
Realtime Lighting/Shaders
Online Multiplayer
Better Physics
Playable in Web Browser
That’d be awesome if their unspecified third party engine was Unity.
Their site clearly lists Linux playback so it’s not Unity…
Is this some sort of redux of Adobe’s prior 3D attempt (before acquiring Macromedia), called Atmosphere? (notice the spelling change) I notice that the company in question isn’t but a few blocks from us here in SF, maybe we should go knock and say hello?
It lists Linux now, perhaps they’re dropping it…?
And I think Atmosphir is just the name of the game, no relation to former Adobe products.
I played it a few months ago. I really like the concept, but it was fairly rough around the edges and they hadn’t gotten the platformer controls down yet. I didn’t play very long.

Not to be a maaaaajor bump, but I was right.
Atmosphir will run on Unity, starting February 5th.
Sounds cool, are they releasing it as a project file then?
I’ll have to keep my eye on this.
Okay, so who knocked on their door? Tom? Joe?
