Unity Bloom effect post processing / lightsaber / neon light in SteamVR

I wanted to create a glowing lightsaber using this tutorial:

It all works fine in desktop mode. But the postprocessing, i. e. the glowing isn’t applied in SteamVR.

Does anyone know how to apply the bloom effect in Unity to SteamVR?

Or how do you create a lightsaber / neon tube, is there a better approach?

I have exactly the same issue with the indie glow asset.

Yes, me too. I tried MK and Kino Bloom. Nothing worked in VR mode.

Well, it turns out you need the latest Unity beta 5.4.0b19 for that to work. It doesn’t work in stable 5.3.4.
