Unity Build Size is Highly Increased in ios ipa file

Hi All

I have build the unity project. When i see in the console it says

Textures 888.6 kb 1.5%
Meshes 2.0 mb 3.4%
Animations 9.5 mb 16.1%
Sounds 5.5 mb 9.4%
Shaders 1.1 mb 1.8%
Other Assets 11.3 mb 19.2%
Levels 9.3 mb 15.8%
Scripts 1.1 mb 1.9%
Included DLLs 5.1 mb 8.7%
File headers 510.8 kb 0.8%
Complete size 58.7 mb 100.0%

Unity Console shows 58.7mb but when i build in xcode and produced the app build. it increases to 119 mb. i have set the bitcodeenable=false in the build settings.

why the build size is so much of increased in the ipa file.

Is there any specific settings to produce the same unity build size in ipa file.

My understanding is iOS is always bigger. I don’t handle the iOS builds at work, but the explanation is something to do with it needing 32 and 64 bit stuff included (it was explained to me there are essentially two builds going into the project). Right now, there isn’t much you can do about it.

But 32 bit support is suppose to be getting dropped, however, I can’t say if this will really cut your project in half or not. I just know that as of now, expect iOS builds to always be larger (to my knowledge, as this is just what my coworker explained to me about iOS builds).

Also note there is an iOS part of the forums

Since this is the scripting part of the forums, we may not be able to offer any insights or tips on iOS build sizes.
