Hi everyone.
New member here - First post - I hope I’m in the right section.
I was hoping someone might be able to help with a pretty specific issue I’m having.
I have two mac computers with unity installed. Both Apple - 10.11 - El Capitan.
One is 2016 MBP 13" and the other is 2010 MP 5,1 12 core.
The MP will not launch any home-made unity build, regardless of which machine it was built on, and regardless of whether it’s Mac standalone app or webgl build.
It always crashes out right at launch with an ‘out_of bounds’ error.
The same builds, however, will launch and run fine on the other machine.
Basically I can open/edit/create/build on either machine, but the MP will not launch the resulting builds.
I should point out that I’ve only had Unity installed for about a week and the MP did successfully launch builds during the first few days. At some point it just stopped working.
My GPU is GTX970 with most recent Nvidia drivers and cuda software for 10.11,
although I did try with an old 8800GT and apple drivers just to rule that out.
It may also be relevant to mention that I’ve had sporadic issues with commercial unity games.
In particular, I upgraded to Sierra last year on the same MP and found that Rust had issues (such as fog not rendering), and that The Long Dark would crash out after 15-20 minutes of play.
Ultimately I ended up rolling back (actually, full reinstall) to 10.11 as a result, but I wonder is there some underlying reason and, perhaps, are these issues all related?
I know it’s not much to go on. If I can answer any questions I’d be glad to.
Also, it might be relevant that enabling experimental Metal API support in Unity on the MP causes unity to hang, requiring force restart. Upon restart, Metal API is still disabled.
This is not the case on the MBP - I can freely flick between either.
Thank you in advance, and thank for your patience with this long post!
