Unity Color Picker wrong and showing wrong colors in game viewer?

I have a problem with the Unity Color Picker. It seems to select wrong colors. For example when I create a completely red image and pick the color of this image as result the color EB3223 is picked. If I pick this color again the color D94432 is picked and so on.

Also if I run the project and make a screenshot of the rectangle which should be completely red in the game viewer and pick the color in Adobe Photoshop the color is also not completely red but is ff3333.

What could be the reasons for these wrong colors? I run it on a MacBook Pro with macOS Catalina.

Possible reason: you have some effect applied to the object you’re picking color from. Fog, debug overlay, “selection” effect, and so on. Try picking color from gamepay view and not from editor view.

No I have no effect applied to the object. It is the same result in gameplay view.

I have a similar issue on Unity 2019.3.0f6, Windows 10.
If I’m trying to pick on my 4k monitor the colors are much lighter than the color of the object shown on the screen. However, if I pick on my 2nd monitor (1080p) it’s fine. Does your MacBook Pro have a 4k screen, by any chance?
