Unity crashes everytime I load a specific project or open a scene

Hi there,

For using a Nuitrack package, I had to install Unity 2021.2.2f1. At first, loading the project would take over 10 minutes, but eventually, it succeeded. But when opening a specific scene, the whole program would crash in the sense that it completely disappears without warning. Now for some reason, I am not able to load the project at all, the whole program will just shut down while loading.

I have looked into the Editor.log file but cannot seem to find a clear bug statement. Does anyone have a clue what this could be? I have completely reinstalled Unity, as well as the Nuitrack package I am trying to load.

Hello. Try unity in between Unity 2020.3.1 - Unity 2021.1.12

Hi Thanks for the reply. I did indeed try to download 2020.3.1. Took forever, but I finally managed to open the project without issues. Just for the sake of understanding what happened, do you know what could be the problem? Is it written somewhere in the log file? I couldn’t find the error.

Unfortunately there is nothing interesting in the editor’s log. I just noticed that this started happening after the latest Unity updates (2021.2+). In 2021.1 and below, everything worked well.

I noticed that after installing the new Unity (2021.2+) Nuitrack stops working in all versions of Unity (tested for 2020.1.3 and 2018.3.14), after restarting the computer everything is fine.

This didn’t happen before, why did Unity break plugins?

Use the version of Unity that is working for you. We may update API signatures between versions, it’s up to the plugin developers to maintain their products with updated versions of Unity. We try to keep compatibility as much as possible between versions, but we can’t test every plugin.
