Unity Crashes on startup

I have had unity 5.0.2 for a long time now and not until recently it broke. I installed Unity 5.1.1f and for some reason the older version of unity (5.0.2 ) was still not completely uninstalled, I accidently opened it and the unity 5 blue screen came up and suddenly after that it crashed into a box that said, “Unity Editor has stopped working… A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”

I’M USING WINDOWS 8.1

I have tried, Uninstalling completely, reinstalling, Downgrading into a older version of unity (Unity 5 and 4), (Start > Run > “DXDIAG”), Alt’ing into a new project (I can’t even get there), and (Start > Run > “regedit”)

Please if you have any ideas on how to fix this please help me out.

Can you access the assets menu at the bottom, or is it truly dead? If you can, you could right-click and hit reimport all. I doubt that you can, but it was unclear how you wrote it.

Otherwise, you might want to try making your computer faster. I found an excellent webpage that shows free and easy ways to make your computer more robust and faster.

Good luck!

I fixed it by updating to 5.0.2f1
