I just recently purchased a MacBook 13" running OS X 6.1 and put Unity on it. When I launch it, it asks me to install a program called InterLok from a company called Pace Anti Piracy. I have never gotten this message before, and a quick google search seems to indicate that this software has elements similar to spyware associated with it. Does Unity actually require this program? Is this some sort of error?

New issue, see my next post.
that program is unity’s license manager, its not a spyware… unity has had it for some time
on unity free still uses it because the same application can become pro if a different license is used, and also because unity free is basically what was unity indie, unchanged, the only difference is that with free you can activate it on as many machines as you want instead of per developer 2 machines license indie had, and pro still has
so yeah, i think unity requires this to function
maybe you didnt noticed before, but since i use unity( which is since 2.5 came out)… it always have required that piece of software on both platforms osx and win
and never had any problem with it
It has been a while since I first installed Unity, so it is possible I got this message originally and since forgot about it. I wanted to make sure the file was kosher before downloading it on my new machine. Thank you for the clarification, much obliged.

I installed the software and registered Unity, but it crashes immediately every time I attempt to launch it. My OS is x.6.2, and I am running Unity on an intel MacBook 13". Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Sorry to annoy, but I would like to resolve this issue so I can run my copy of Unity properly. The application crashes as soon as I attempt to launch it, so I don’t think I can really use the bug reporter to report this?

I appear to have the old version of Unity, I’m downloading the new one to see if that fixes the problem.
Okay, that fixed my copy of unity. You can lock this topic if you want, problem solved.
