Unity Creative Magazine (Free copy)

Hey there guys,

There is a constant stream of new Unity users so we thought we’d let you know that we currently offer a free edition of our magazine and a reduced issue as well. Check it out and contact us if you have questions or if you are about to finish a game made with Unity. We’d love to hear from you!

Is this the one which has always been free? Because I remember downloading on of them a while ago. Good read too!

Yes that first one has been free for a while but not everybody knows about it. Unity’s userbase is growing like crazy so we thought we’d spread the word once again.

Cool stuff!

Awesome! Just bought my copy of the July/August edition. I would buy every issue at this price.

Thanks for buying. Price is always debatable but ultimately everyone will have a different opinion on that

BEWARE - SUBSCRIPTIONS NOT HONORED - NO REPLIES TO EMAILS

I subscribe to this publication and my subscription run one issue short. I contacted the publication a half dozen times to let them know and have still never heard back.

I don’t like posting like this, but I guess I’m still feeling a bit sensitive about the whole Charles Hinshaw* screw-job.

  • Hinshaw, a current Unity Denmark employee, ripped of many Unity developers selling us subscription to his “Unity Developer Magazine” and then closing up shop - without notice, refunds or answers to emails or forum posts. He even continued to accept subscriptions to the publication during the two year hiatus between UDM’s last issue ship date and his closing up shop.

Beware? How about you take a deep breath there for a moment. Did it ever cross your mind that your email didn’t reach us for whatever strange reason? We are more than willing to send you whatever we owe you but there is really no reason to get all hyped like that. Send me a PM with your info and which issue you are missing and I will get it to you right away. That’s how easy this problem can and will be solved. It’s not like we intentionally ignore your emails.

As for Charles Hinshaw, I am not related in any way, shape or form with what he did or does so I don’t know why you bring him up here.

I confirm that Thomas is honest about is business. I had problems with undelivered issues and Thomas solved this in a more than satisfying way.

Sorry to see someone come in and start to tear down an honest business.

Thomas is a stand up guy. Very responsive and creates an amazing magazine with a wonderful reputation in the industry.

After losing my money on Hinshaw’s magazine I was skeptical about another but Unity Creative has never let me down.

P.S. all my e-mails and messages to Thomas have been answered with lightning speed.

Thanks Metron and TheLlama, appreciate it  We just reduce prices on our bundle and subscription as well if anybody is interested:

I replied to the several emails from UC asking me to renew my subscription - no reply.

I emailed several UC staffers directly - no reply.

I contacted UC support using the webmail form on the UC website - no reply.

Frankly, I’m not sure what else I could have done to get an answer from you. Thus my post and its frustrated tone.
