Unity doesn't display Island Demo, nor other tutorials..

Hi all!

I’m a n00b at unity, installed it today, and tried to do some tutorials. The first one I found showed the Island Demo, wich should have came with the installation. There is however, no trace of it. I downloaded it from unity3d.com, but nothing is displayed, other then the camera, etc…
Tried to load the 3d platformer tutorial, same thing. There are files in the Project window, but nothing is displayed or set up…

I’m running Unity 3.1 on a fresh install of Windows 7 Proffesional 32bit PC, (Core2Duo 3ghz, 4g Ram).

Anybody willing to help me out? Can’t wait to start those tutorials!

Thanks in advance

Thomas

does it show anything in the project hierachy?..like i dunno objects, barrels, bridges …if so all you need to do is click the premade terrain …try pressing play and see if you can play anything

No nothing in the Hiearchy, and when playing the game, I get a blue window… I tried reinstalling everything just now, no difference. :frowning:

U3 has no island demo, the island demo was the 2.x demo project.
The U3 demo project is the boot camp

OK, your right, it’s the bootcamp…
Still, nothing in my scene window, or hiearchy window… I tried running it as a windows XP program, no luck…
I can’t seem to find any install help, or requirements…

Any help would be apreciated!

I can however add simple objects, and see them in scene and camera view? :S

huh…i’ve had unity for a few weeks now as well …never used any demos …but i’ve made a whole world (terrain, tress, grass, playermovement) i really just read a few tutorials …so you’ll be fine dude

After opening the Bootcamp project, nothing appears on you project window/tab either? If things do show up on the project list, I would guess all you need to do is double click the Bootcamp scene (the one with the unity cube icon)
When opening a project Unity just shows a blank/new scene instead of one of the saved scenes. You have to choose the one to open.

Thanks Vortex! That was indeed the trick!

Like I said, I’m a big n00b!!!
