I attempted to download the free Unity Software off of this site twice onto my Mac computer. But each time, the download would terminate [after 10-15 min of downloading] and a message would appear under the download that said “Mounting failure”. I do not know what this means and I would like to know how to fix it so I can download Unity onto my Mac. Thank you!
mounting failure normally does mean the download went through and that it now tried to execute the DMG which mounts the image (dmg are volume images on osx) which would show the installer.
best you go to the downloaded dmg and try to execute it.
(I know speed download 5 does it on its own, so perhaps that gave you the message?)
Thanks! And how would i do that? Since it is a Mac it automatically pops up a download window that downloads the software into the downloads folder and i can’t find any other way for it download…
you can look at my posting on the download problem thread 6 below this one
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/98039-I-cant-download-unity-3d
Yeah, i have read all of that thread and thank you! I tried the normal download link three more times since and it still won’t download. I dont know what to do
Im new with Macintosh computers and I cant figure out how to download stuff without the little downloader popping up…
my recommendation is to download speed download 5 and try it with that.
That or stop using safari, cause if you happen to be on a all new OSX Lion System + Safari you might be poised by safari problems. Chrome doesn’t have the problems as far as I’ve seen nor Firefox I think.
Okay thank you!
