This issue happend for me after reinstall of windows - just installed, switched from linuxcause of no help from unity forums about unity games.
I have clean install of Windows XP Pro SP2 → SP3 with VC++ 2008, DX9.0c and NET installed. NVIDIA drivers installed, but Unity3D wont run, just displays that Unity3D encounter a problem and needs to close. Any help?
My simply setup is AMD Duron, 1GB ram, NVIDIA GPU is 5200 FX. If you want to say: “upgrade”, “unity won’t run on that” or something like these - just be quiet. I haven’t got problems with Unity3D on that machine NEVER, up to version 4.
Now, every version don’t want to cooperate, Even 3.4
Maybe I didn’t install something?
Have you checked the editor log file?
Yes, I checked folder, but It don’t contain any editor folder. Just “Temp” and “WebPlayer”
Bumping. No one really knows what happend?
You may need to contact support at unity3d dot com since you can’t get any version running on your PC.
I’m downloading again Unity 3.4.0, just installed VS2008. Let’s see what debugger will show for me… Will edit this post when done.
Meanwhile, I’ve tried to install Esenthel Engine - the same fault. But inspecting with debugger, the error is >>An unhandled win32 exception occured in Esenthel 2.0 Installer.exe [1644]<< and >>Unhandled exception at 0x0054f73a in Esenthel 2.0 Installer.exe: 0xC000001D: Illegal Instruction.<<
Maby it will be related to my problem.
Yes, this (or more-likely: similar) error is also in Unity3D >>Unhandled exception at 0x07f7233f in Unity.exe: 0xC000001D: Illegal Instruction.<<
