Unity Editor not responding on play AND consumes too much RAM

Help! Every time I hit play to test my 2D game, Unity editor will not respond and had to open task manager to kill it. I also noticed that it is still continuously consuming memory. If anyone’s having the same issue as me or has the solution please let me know. thanks

Same problem, but not every time: looks like Unity not responding every ~4-5 times I hit Play button. Also I noticed that this happens more frequently right after switching to Unity from another application (e.g. Visual Studio or browser).

  • There is an assumption that the problem is related to the project Assembly Definitions and/or some troubles with code organization.

@sandwichpom: Do you have this problem in clean Unity project? Is your game have a lot of code or using several third party libraries?
