I don’t know where to post so I’ll post this here. I’ve been getting constant emails from unity about Unite 2013; I’m guessing for the unity newsletter. The first time I got about 3 emails of the same thing so I blew it off as an error. But now my email is on blast; I’m getting 50-100 emails a day clogging up my email. I tried to unsubscribe to stop but it didn’t seem to work since I just got 10 more emails about this thing. Is this happening to anyone else? I’m gonna email unity team to find out what’s going on…
That is strange! In my case I got only one email about the Unite.
Here are three scenarios:
The Unity mail account was hacked and someone is sending a mass of emails to you.
Their mail sending is bugged !
Someone sending you that same email but in reality its not unity. Can you double check the address of who is sending that to you ? Is it the same e-mail address as the first ones you got ?
Are you using a mail program or is it in-browser ?
edit:
If you are using an external mail program its possible that it can download the mail over and over again. There is some kind of option to make sure it doesn’t download the thing over and over usually.
Is the date and time on the emails the same ?
Or it could be the message is stuck in the inbox of your server. So the send/receive appears to work and do their job but they never update the list of messages so it keeps downloading the same email again and again.
