I am looking for a version of Unity that will work on Windows 2000 please, as this is the OS that i have installed on the PC i am using and the only one i have access to.
I can understand the latest versions might not support Windows 2000, thats not unreasonable to assume, but is there any older versions that support Windows 2000?
Or a workaround as to why my version (which is Windows 2000 compatible) is not actually working and i receive an error?
Windows 2000, as the name says, is over 12 years old. It can’t be expected for an application that didn’t exist until 2005 to support such an ancient platform.
The system requirements that Eric linked to are there for a reason.
Well my appologies if i have an ancient platform, at least it works without any errors.
Sarcasm aside, i do have (as i said originally) a release of Unity that DOES work on my ancient platform, but it has errors when i try to use it…
Are you saying that you never released a version of Unity that was compatible with Windows 2000? (which is what i asked easrlier, before you started to say its my PC’s fault for being too old).
Because basically i would like to know if a version is available for download that works on Windows 2000… i didnt really need to be told that Windows 2000 is 12 years old… i am not asking why your latest software does not work on Windows 2000 and therefore your current system requirements mean aboslutely nothing to me as i am not asking about them.
You seem to be asking about the web player, in which case what version it uses is up to the people making the content. If the contents require the Unity 4 web player, then that’s the version that must be used and there is no option to use an older plugin.
