unity first experiance.

Hi all, I first used unity when I start gamer programing in 2005 or so. I think the staff was 7 people? Many years later and with my 13 y/o son wanting to make game, I get this…

What happened guys? This is just wrong.

win10 64
nvida 660 ti (latest drivers)
32 gig

I can not even fix anything because I can’t read the darn fount. Please help, I’d really like him to use this game engine.

It appear you posted the schematic for a homebrew HDMI connector for the Super Nintendo (SNES).

Instead of taking screenshots of errors, put the actual error text into Google. You will find almost universally you are never going to be the first person to have any given error.

OH I did, sorry, no its not an error… its more like a mess. Google did have some hits but %90 of the support leased to missing menu items. Lots of hits about updating the render pipe line but they all lead to nowhere as your UI has changed since. Also, as you can clearly see, no human can read that font.

Anything interesting in the editor log?

yeah
Couldn’t open include file ‘HLSLSupport.cginc’.
am I missing a shader pipe line or something?

You’re running Unity from a network share:

\192.168.0.27\m$\SKULLCRAWERLIFE\unity\2020.3.19f1\Editor\Unity.exe

Can you try running it from local disk instead? If that fixes it, can you report a bug on this?

If that doesn’t fix it, can you try reinstalling Unity? That file comes from within Unity installation so if it’s not there, something went wrong when installing. It should be here:

unity\2020.3.19f1\Editor\Data\CGIncludes\HLSLSupport.cginc

hey thx, yeah original I tried doing things with a net work uunc path but then changed to a net work share. Not sure why it install unit to the next but ill have a look thx.
