Hi, I’m experiencing heavy lag right now trying to browse the forums. Anyone else?
Sometimes. Long reported, but seems that the daily lag is part of the forum now ![]()
yeah talked about to death
the thing is unity needs members to buy more assets, lots more, to be able to afford replacing their eco friendly gerbal powered apple 2e forum server which they got somehow connected to the internet using two old rusty cans and a string with something a little better.
then their is that little bit of code that somehow got released with the last update to the forum server software that nobody knows how to get rid of that reads
if(memberId == "zombie_psy")
{
useSlowLaggyUnrelaiableConnection();
}
else
{
useSuperFastUltraReliableConnection();
}
from what i hear they plan to add the very same thing to the rest of their servers ![]()
but dont feel so bad at least your copy of unity3d does not have the following code added in
void OnRandomTimerExpired(object sender, EventArgs eventArgs)
{
if(eventArgs.memberId == "im")
{
Debug.Log("hey you listen up stop posting in our forums");
crashAndBurn();
}
}
Actually I’ve not heard about this lag before, are there particular times this happens?
im: Hillarious answer, it’s like you read my mind as I wrote this post. More like Apple IIe servers using 56K modems…
Aurore: It happened at around 10PM. I was also thinking the forum was being hammered worldwide, since 10pm US time is about morning time in Asia and afternoon in Europe.
i remember 110 baud is that bad?
anyways
it happens intermittently 24x7
not sure if its server / internet
next time i’ll do tracert
then again could be caused by like google/yahoo (nsa) bots that are constantly scraping the web.
the funny thing is when you go to some forum websites forums and you see its you and the bots and nobody else…
Does this lag happen consistently around every evening at 10pm (or there about)
I nearly die using 2400 baud rate for some stuff haha.
