Unity FPS Tutorial

Hey guys, I started a new channel for tutorials, 3d art and all thing game development. Here is my first tutorial series, its how to get started with a first person shooters. I am planning on learning scripting as I do this series. So I will make all my own scripts and perfect them, then try to teach them. I will post videos as I learn mainly, I already know enough about unity to make a few videos, but I should do some extra research if I wanna help others, anyways, here is the first video.

Blender 2.49 is much easier, and their is no difference between the two for making models. They come out the same with dedication, I said it only makes a difference for visual fx, if you are making fluid sims blender 2.59 is better, but for making games generally it does not matter.

Actually its not 2.59 is much easier and has better UI.

Let’s not make this a flame thread. Keep up the work arthas. Any tutorial is good for both the user and Unity as it gives exposure to the software and an example of workflow to the user. If I would have any critique, I’d prepare your websites and programs ahead of time so you can jump right in instead of hopping around different sites.

Clearly you didn’t used the sculpt tool and the texture painting tool if you said something like that. I used to hate 2.5, but after a couple of tutorials and 2 days spent on it to get my feet back with commands i can say is a great improvement over 2.49

Also, you might want to stick with written tutorials if you want a bit of credibility. I don’t think a 13 years old kid can teach me something.

@alex95: nobody appointed you as guardian. Eisobax have a good point on his comment.

Arthas, you are having a rough time on these forums.

As for the tutorial, one of the best ways to improve your own skills is to teach. So I applaud the effort.
However, one of the other ways to improve your skills is to listen to those who have more experience and knowledge than yourself.

I’m not trying to be critical. I’m just saying that if you want to teach, prepare to learn.

i like it that you want to help out the community with tutorials, but please make sure first you know what you are talking about.

Example: Blender 2.59 is great, it has more option than 2.49b. i was on the same boat as many people and i was sure i would never leave blender 2.49, i am glad i did it.

Example 2: i watched your tutorial about UVs. Please…delete it. There is so much wrong with it.

Have a look here, learn first and after you learned your tools…teach on the internet, otherwise you have to face “massive” criticism and trolls.

Just have fun

what happened to your MMO ??

It was hard at first to switch from Blender 2.49 to 2.59, but 2.59 is so much more steamlined that I actually model much faster now

Finally  A motivating comment, maybe I will look into the new blender.

i think this is great  thanks arthas532…

thanks…

whens part 2 coming?

Ahh I didn’t realize you were young Arthas! Nice work!

this tutorial is pretty good but remove the uv mapping one ;).

@ivanzu That I may do, you can make bad comments about that one and I don’t care

well i gave you a bad comment on that one and you starded sreaming that i have no life so…

Arthas, aren’t you pretty new to game development?
I don’t think your quite ready for tutorials :X I mean, good for you for doing so…
but there are better tuts out there :stuck_out_tongue: and no offense in any real damaging way…
