Hi! I’m new to Unity and I’m developing a game using the free version. I have absolutely no problem with paying the first month of susbcription, but if my game does not let me regain it, i won’t be able to maintain the subscription.
So, let’s say i bought Unity Plus, published my game and then stopped updating my game at the end of the subscription. Will my game be “downgraded” and forced to have a Unity splash screen?
If what you mean is what people will download on an app store, than no. There’s no way for Unity to modify published games.
However if it makes over $100k a year, you’ll need Plus and if over $200k a year, Pro.
What would happen is Unity would assign a collection agency to get the rest of the money you owe them. Because the subscription cannot be canceled within the first year; they consider the actual price $420 per year. But yeah, nothing would happen to your existing game, until you went to make an update with the expired Unity.
