No. Not if you use the trial version.
It’s also for evaluation only. So you can’t make any commercial games with the trial.
not with the trial version but with the Free version
cant i make commercial ames with the Free version?
Yes you can.
Of course you can make games with the free version.
Not sure why you get a trial stamp in your standalone, when you use the free version.
now the trial version text disapeared THANK GOD i didnt touched anything it disapeared by itself so what if it appears again?
If you’ve been testing Pro for a month, that would explain it.
Every Free version of Unity comes with a 30 day trial of Pro, when you deploy a game it will have the trial logo in the corner because you cannot distribute a game from the trail version.
I suspect you activated your trial version and it has now ended and your editor has reverted to free. You are able to release a game and profit from it up to $100,000 with the free version.
I’m pretty sure that its not from your game but from your total income, like Bill Gates would have to buy pro cuz’ hes rich. At least I think that’s what this says:
The community manager is confusing the community
The $100 000 is based on annual gross revenue for the entire company’s income.
So if your company makes $99 999 selling bananas at supermarkets. And then you release your game on the app store, and someone makes a $1 IAP, you are no longer allowed to use the free version of Unity and must license the Pro version.
Yeah, sorry I was wrong. Gross income of $100k = buy Unity pro
*hangs head in ultimate shame
Hmm…what if, as an indie developer, i have non gaming job (selling bananas) that pays me $99,999 a year and i make $1.00 from a game? i have to buy full version then? i always thought it was if the game makes you 100k+ in a year. Don’t get me wrong i would probably buy it if selling bananas made 100k a year and i planned on producing games on the side.
What if i have a job that pays 99,999 and then i start a indie company that makes $1.00 do i total my income with the companies income of $1.00 to figure out if im above $100K?
p.s. oh old post…hmm sorry. posting anyways
I would think that you would have your banana business and game business as separate commercial entities.
The lisence changed between 4.x and 5.x. Now for individuals it’s unity related revenue only.
Relying on info in a thread from 2 years ago will get you in trouble.
