It used to run just fine, I don’t know what changed, I stopped using Unity for a few month, when I got back to it, there was small freezes (like one second), then smooth again, it happens in the scene/game view, but also in the editor.
I’ve made sure Unity was up to date, i try running open-gl instead of dx11, my drivers are up to date as well.
I’m on windows 10, intel core 15-6600k 3.50ghz cpu, gtx 980 gpu, 16Gb of ram
thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately changing light baking doesn’t fix it.
I can’t see anything interesting in the logfiles either.
Something weird is that it freezes even if the menu when you open your project (so when nothing is loaded yet).
I noticed that the freezes are even worse now. I tried reinstalling Unity but the issue persists.
I’m trying to think about what changed since the last time i’ve opened Unity but nothing comes to my mind for now…
Are you using a version control system integrated with Unity, such as Unity Collaborate or Perforce? Does the performance change if using Unity while running in offline mode? (disconnect from internet, launch Unity, select Work Offline)
I was just rattling off issues I’ve seen posted in other threads. There’s been a lot of Russians complaining about issues like this when going through VPN recently, and in generally this has been a recurring thread topic (not VPN related) that I see every month or two for at least the last year. I haven’t hit this issue, so I never bothered to check if there was a resolution or better work around. You might find more by looking for those other threads on the topic.
