Unity GUI font size

Is there a way to increase the font size for Unity’s GUI? Everything I’ve found searching is just talking about increasing the font size for a program you create with Unity. I’m asking about the GUI on Unity itself. I’ve just started really going through the Unity tutorials, and it’s pretty neat, but the default GUI is really straining my eyes after awhile.

There is no way to change the overall size of the Unity editor font.

While you cannot change Unity, if you’re running Windows you may be able to change the overall font size and in turn have an effect on Unity.

I have vision issues, so instead of running my monitor in native 1920x1200, I run at 1440x900. This increases the text size in most programs automatically. If you only need it for Unity, it can be a pain swapping back and forth. Also, not all video cards and monitors will do this smoothly; some get less sharp at certain resolutions.

Additionally, Windows has a way of increasing overall font size for people who need bigger fonts. I use this myself. I don’t know how it affects Unity specifically because I use it for everything. Be aware that some programs don’t play nice with it and you can sometimes end up with text that gets cut off because it’s larger than the space allocated. (Though I have not run into that issue with Unity.)

Thanks for the advice. Reducing the resolution does help some. But yes, it is a little inconvenient since I want to play games and movies at a higher resolution. Most programs I use–web browsers, word processors, etc.–can easily make their text larger. Unity’s black on gray color scheme doesn’t help either, and Windows 7’s high contrast mode doesn’t affect that.

As far as I can tell, Windows 7’s font options don’t change the font in other programs.

I’ve been using the screen magnifier sometimes.
