Unity Hub 2.4.0 won't recognize manual installs..

Hi, I’ve been trying to install unity without the hub (it has given me so many problems trying to install it with the hub) so I downloaded Unity via torrent:

So I installed unity to C:\Program Files\Unity\2019.4.10f1
Then I proceeded like this:

  • I clicked on the Installs menu part
  • Clicked Locate
  • Selected C:\Program Files\Unity\2019.4.10f1\Editor\Unity.exe

Yet Unity Hub says “Installation Failed”

I cant create a project.
What I’ve tried:

  • I restarted my computer
  • create a modules.json file on the root folder
  • reinstalled the hub and unity again

Please let me know, I’ve been trying to install the LTS Version for like 3 days now (downloading via the hub is not an option, it always shows an error or gets interrupted )

NOTE: After adding the modules.json file to the root of the folder, it still says “installation failed” and I can’t do anything.

Move to the directory above, not Unity but C:\Program Files\2019.4.10f1. Hopefully then Hub will not look for modules.json and will work as with the regular external version. As an option you can use the previous 2.3.2 version of the Hub.

Hi, could you check your Hub cache folder for a file called “downloadProgress%3A2019.4.10f1.json”? If you find it there, please delete it, restart Unity Hub and the Installs tab should display the correct information. On Windows, the cache folder is located in "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\UnityHub"
