Unity Hub Installation Aborted (also won't uninstall!)

Hi, I recently downloaded the new Unity Hub 2.3.0 setup and since I hadn’t used (or downloaded Unity Core) using the previous version of the Hub, I simply deleted the folder containing Unity Hub instead of uninstalling it like any normal person. Now, every time I open the Unity Hub Setup and try and install it, it always shows the same “Installation Aborted, could not install successfully,” error. I can’t even uninstall the previous version from Windows Settings! I’ve tried changing the destination folder, but still doesn’t work. And yes, I have enough space for the Hub as well.

Any Help is appreciated!

P.S. This error occurs when installing Unity HUB. Not the Unity Core Platform! I’ve also looked at all other similar posts.

Thanks.

Hi there!

I had the same problem and I fixed it by using CCleaners Registry Cleanup.
You can download the portable version of it. Then start CCleaner with the same, i.e. if you have a Windows 64 bit installation, you should use CCleaner64.

After that go to the Registry tab and click scan for issues and fix all selected issues.
That was how I fixed it for my PC.

Hope it helps!

I can vouch for this, cleaning the registry fixed my issue.

Wow thanks it worked!!!
