Hello, Recently when I downloaded Unity Hub 3.70 I logged in, but after a few days of using it, it keeps logging me out, in every session (in short, whenever I open the hub it logs me out)
Is this intentional? because of unity’s new pricing system which forces users to be online every 3 days?
I use unity 2020 version so I hope it’s not because of this. Sometimes I do not have internet so I would like to have a version of unity which wouldn’t require to sign in, but even worse, when I open unity itself without the hub 2020 version it doesn’t boot up, it opens unity hub.
Looking forward for an answer, thanks for your time
Intentional as you suspected. A real piss off indeed.
I believe that there are earllier versions (2017,2018) that don’t use that useless bug ridden Hub thing and one can use them all the time without internet connections. Check out Google to find the list of hub-free Unity… Apparently there are later versions too!!
This is not intentional. After logging in your refresh token should be valid for a year. During that time you will be able to use the hub offline, but may need to come online occasionally in order to check in with the licensing client depending on your license.
If anyone encountering this issue has the time it would be appreciated if you could submit a bug report:
right click on hub icon > troubleshooting > report a bug
This helps us to gather as much information as possible about the issue, and to see how often it is happening so that we can prioritize what to fix.
Guess I missed it in all of the chaos of the runtime fee announcement, but November has come and gone and there are no changes and looks like the faq that user referenced got walked back to 30 days at some point:
Starting in November 2023, Unity Personal customers will get a new sign-in and online customer experience. Customers will need to be signed into the Hub with their Unity ID and connect to the internet to use Unity. If the internet connection is lost, customers may continue using Unity for up to thirty (30) days while offline. More details to come.
Hub will not be subject to any check-in requirement, but if the licenses are then hub will be communicating that requirement.
Earlier versions of the hub allowed the hub to be used without signing in. There is no intention to force users to sign in every 3 days. Downgrading would work around it, but I suspect even on earlier versions you will be signed out (just not put to the login screen)
Hello, I had this issue as well and I deleted the UnityEntitlementLicense.xml file in the license folder and user-… ( I don’t remember the name but there are just 2 files in that folder that one of them starts with user- ) file in config folder in:
C:\Users[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Unity
I hope this works but I don’t know if it breaks anything or not for you do it with your own responsibility ( I just don’t want to break anyone’s application )
