I just built our project using 5.1.2p3 it seems to include the UnityEngine.xml (documentation) file, twice!
Is this a known bug ? should i report it ?

Please submit a bug report. This is not a known issue, and we should correct it.
Already did - it’s 720207
I am not getting any replies from QA lately… not sure if anyone looked at it…
Hope get solved, I assume this taking up space on project build
Thanks, it looks like QA has not processed that bug yet. I’ve pinged them and asked them to do so.
It will take up some space, but the file is not too big, and it can be manually removed. However we should correct this.
@JoshPeterson i was just contacted by QA. They said they can’t reproduce.
I was able to reproduce this with an empty project, although slightly different than the one we’re getting with our REAL project. It still contained that XML documentation file (only once). Also, it did not appear in the editor build log.

Here you can see the project output. That file is included in the built iOS package…
Here’s a link to the project i used for the bug report: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31384095/Bugs/UnityEngineDocs.zip
Just in case somebody else wants to give a try.
Simply hit BUILD for iOS. then check the resulting folder under Data/Managed.
It looks like our QA team is having another look, so they’ll like get back to you via the bug report. I am interested to know if anyone else sees this though.
Couldn’t be just me… although my mom always told me i was special ![]()
Seriously though, not sure everybody is peeking into the resulting IPA to see what it contains.
Any updates on this? I haven’t received an update from QA yet.
tested random project ios build with 5.1.2f1, it had 2 of those “UnityEngine.xml” there as in first post…
Did anyone test 5.1.3?
I’ve just pinged QA about it again. It seems that this one fell through the cracks. They will look at it, and I would expect a response within the next day.
awesome thanks man ![]()
Any word on this ? I just had a look, this is also included in the Android builds (under assets/bin/Data/Managed)
yes, ^same here with android build (5.1.3p1)
Unity 5.2 should be out this week, maybe they resolved it in this release but issue should be backported…
I used the latest 5.2 RC version… i don’t recall this being fixed there… so… don’t count on it…
I don’t have an update on this one yet, although I’ve ping QA again. I’m sure this is not corrected in 5.2 though.
