Unity Indie license question

I was thinking of buying a second Indie license to use for casual programmers that want to try to help develop my game.

That way I could respond to others that want to help by saying that “yes I do have an extra license you can use, but I will own it.”.

If that person was to leave the project I would retain the license #.

Is this type of use of a license acceptable or is there some sort of one person one license philosophy at work here ?

At best you contact sales@unity3d.com as they are the only ones that can give you a definitive answer and handle this kind of thing

If you buy these as a company, and the company will own these licenses and the company’s employees will use those licenses, then this is ok. Otherwise what you’re after is not ok, you cannot “lend” a license to a contractor or someone you’re working with as that constitutes a transfer of your license which is prevented by our license agreement.

Ok, I understand better.

I think I will buy an extra license and then I will only give it to a person who works for MBO Inc. (my company) and only then that person signs an agreement specifying that they will abide by the terms of the contract.

Contractors will not be permitted to use it.

This should work.
