Hi everyone,
The end of the year has officially arrived! As we wind down for the holidays, we felt it necessary to take a moment and look back on the work our team has done this year. Below is a list of everything our team has worked on and released in 2024. It’s a combination of brand new learning experiences, revamped old favorites and lots of Unity 6 compatible assets. Have a look and let us know what you think!
Also, if you have a few minutes to spare, please feel free to let us know what you’d like to see from us in 2025.
Q1: January, February, March
At the start of the year, our production team saw some leadership and personnel changes. So, Q1 was all about resetting the way we work and sorting out what these changes meant for our content production. Thankfully, we were able to leverage internal collaborations to release some pretty great learning experiences!

Q3: July, August, September
In Q3, preparation for the Unity 6 launch was in full force. Knowing that this was going to be an important version release, the Unity Learn team was tasked with updating some of our existing content to be compatible with Unity 6, focus collaborative efforts towards big feature releases, and get much of our asset store content updated. It was a big endeavor, but I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish for this release!

Looking ahead
Now that we’ve got all of that out of the way, let’s talk about 2025!
After this much-needed holiday break, we look forward to hitting the ground running with a complete overhaul to one of our older, yet familiar learning experiences. We also plan to re-evaluate our approach to how we’re currently guiding new Unity users during their first 90 days of learning Unity. Adjustments will be made in an effort to streamline this flow, hopefully decreasing a new user’s frustration at learning Unity. We know that learning Unity is hard, so we hope to do our best to make it a little bit easier for everyone.
If there’s one word to describe what 2025 has in store for our team, we would say that word is “collaboration”. We saw some pretty great collaborations this year, but we want to take this a few steps further in the new year. We’ve been working on revamping some of our authoring resources to enable more of our internal subject matter experts to create new experiences for Unity Learn. We’re hoping to also expand these resources with some handy tools to streamline the overall tutorial creation process. If all goes well, we may even decide to share some of these tools with experts in our own community!
Lastly, we want to express a heartfelt thank you to our entire Unity education and learning community. One of the best parts of this job is seeing all of you amazing people who have persisted in your Unity learning journey and wound up creating some awesome projects by leveraging our resources. Seriously, as someone who was also in the same boat learning Unity years ago, it’s truly humbling to be on the other side helping others pursue their passions and follow their dreams!
With that said, we hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season. See you in the new year!
