Hi. I used to use DxStudio, and I went on their website to see how the engine is going, and i found this:
http://www.dxstudio.com/library.aspx
Wouldn’t it be quite cool to have something like this for the Unity engine?
we could upload models and stuff to it, and let other s use them for free projects.
Anyone else think it is a cool idea?
vote in the poll!
thanks,
Michael

I’ve suggested exactly the same thing looong time ago.
Yes it’d be cool, but they won’t do it because Unity wants to be unique from others
yes, they want to be Unique, but it would be a help to all newbies out there.
Plus we have 4 yes’s already.
If we get enough, do you think Unity might take the idea into consideration?
there isn’t much on there, plus one contributed by all would be better!
wow, only 3 people voted no so far!
I can’t fathom why this could possibly be a bad thing. I hope it’s not curmudgeonery (new word?) or snobbery that is bringing the “no” votes.
I thought this was one of the neater aspects of DXStudio.
it would help out those that want to make games, but have no experience.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see something similar, but it’ll probably be something much more tightly integrated and with greater flexibility. A sort of “iTunes for content” approach.
Probably not in Unity 3.0 though. It’d need a lot of infrastructure first.
it could be similar to a shop, with it’s own custom points system, incoperated into the forum
