Hi,
I am a student and I would like to know a bit more about the Unity license.
What I want to know is, say I develop a game and then want to deploy it to the cloud… do I need a license for each deployed instance, or pay a fee, or do I only have to pay that initial fee for the whole application, regardless of how many times it is installed, where it is installed, etc?
Thanks!
Can you define what you mean by deploying to the cloud?
Well, multiple machines (be they real or VM’s) will need an instance of my application - will I need a license (or have to pay a fee) for each one of those instances, or just the regular fee (subscription for Unity, or upfront fee)?
So will this be a networked application rendering in the cloud?
I’m mainly asking as there is this clause in our EULA
“Streaming and Cloud Gaming Restrictions
You may not directly or indirectly distribute interactive Licensee Content by means of streaming or broadcasting where Licensee Content is primarily executed on a server and transmitted as a video stream or via low level graphics render commands over the open Internet to end user devices without a separate license from Unity. This restriction does not prevent end users from remotely accessing Licensee Content from an end user device that is running on another end user device.”
I’m trying to reply but all I’m getting is “Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator.”
Well, it’s not possible to submit my post, so I’ve made a screenshot of the message and attached it…
