Unity Locking up When Playing 2nd time... stale assets?

I have an issue where the first time I load up Unity and run my scene, everything works fine. The second time I do so it’s locking up before the scene plays, presumably when it’s checking the assets to see if they need to be re-imported. This doesn’t happen all of the time but its somewhat frequent now and is a somewhat new issue for me.

Killing Unity and starting it all over works fine again until the second “play.”

Anyone encounter this before? I’m tempted to say its related to threading in my game (as that’s what I’ve been messing around with the past week when I started having problems) but I’m not entirely sure yet. My first thought was that it was a syncing/corruption issue with the assets over multiple computers but I don’t think that is the case.

It looks like a threading deadlock of some sort. Bummer.
