unity mono develop without unity possible?

I know I can presumably download mono develop basically i want the unity API stuff so the keywords and stuff just come up.

I’m not actually sure I want mono dev either so its ok if it’s another one.

Basically what i’d like is to be able to have a usb portable exe of a compiler/text editor that uses unity API but doesn’t have unity, thats because i’d like to use it at work but I don’t have install rights and stuff so i just want a stand alone exe I can put the API into to code during downtime.

What about setting your home computer up for remote desktop and just remoting in from work?

I think what your asking is, is it possible to not use MonoDevelop. If this is your question then the answer is yes. There’s a video by BergZerg Arcade on youtube. As part of the first video in the play list he shows people how to change the script editor.
