I have been told about Unity by a friend and it wont download for me. i click download unity 3.3 and it brings me to the next page saying thanks for downloading Unity. i tried to download it on a Linux computer that i own and it downloads but doasnt run on Linux (obviously). i use Firefox.help please!
How do you know it didn’t download? Find the folder on your hard drive where your browser usually downloads files to. You may find the installer in that folder. Alternatively, if you managed to download the installer on your Linux box, then simply copy the installer over to your PC or Mac.
You mentioned you were using Firefox?
Try hitting Ctrl-y. This should bring up the Downloads window. Does the installer appear in that list? If it does, can you right-click it and select “Open file location” (or whatever it’s called in English, I’m on a Danish version of FF).
@Binary i downloaded it to Linux because i wanted to see if i could actually download it on any computer not because i thought it would work
@Graham i have checked almost every place possible on my computer and i couldn’t find it
I have the SAME problem… what it is that your PC all together can’t find the file your trying to download, Ive tried all three browsers, then i opened it up as HTML then that’s when fire fox told me " Firefox cannot find specified file". Ive contacted the admin of the site, so far he has done nothing about it, that was nearly 3 months ago. i asked him to make a mirror or a “click here if it wont download in 5 seconds” but he said these issue are intermittent. ) so the only way around this is for someone to upload the setup file somewhere and we download it from there, that’s the only way either of us can get unity, there are no other sites that provide it to us without directing us to the download at www.unity.com . it sucks D: BUT i figured if i could search for the download maually cept for firefox doing it , it should work, and it did. the REAL LINK is here http://download.unity3d.com/download_unity/UnitySetup-3.3.0.exe
try right clicking on the “Download Unity 3.3” button, and then selecting “Save Link As”, then select where you want to save the installer exe, in your case, i would save it to the desktop.
Then just run it, if it doesn’t download, then try deleting your browser’s history, cookies, and cache, even try restarting your computer as well as thost three options, and then try again!!!
Hope this helps…
