Unity on 64 Bit Win 7

Every time I run Unity on my new PC, there is a message that states “Your 64 bit Windows installation is missing an important service pack patch. Please apply http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976038 to ensure stability.” I visited the site and requested a hotfix download but on the download site, you need a username and password which I was not given. I want to know what I can do about it or should I just ignore it.

Here are my PC Specs:
Intel Pentium @ 3.20 GHz
6GB RAM
1TB Hard Drive
64 Win 7 Home Premium
Nvidia GeForce 210 Graphics Card

The login/password was sent to the email address you provided when you downloaded the hotfix. However, this hotfix is also included in the Service Pack 1 update.

The Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is an additional Windows update. It does not install by default. You may need to choose it manually in the update center.
