Unity Particle Pack 5.x HDRP Pink Materials Cant Convert Selected Materials

I’ve been having this issue for weeks now since I installed the packaged created by unity themselves for particle effects, figuring it might be an “internal unity bug” which would require reimport, or an update to the editor itself).

Basically I imported the asset/package and as such, it imported most of the materials in pink. Knowing what I learned from the HDRP asset, I would then take such materials, select edit, rendering, materials and convert these selected materials to HDRP, which seems to work for all other materials when I try (which is everytime I make an update to the editor).

But not with a unity built in package. It doesnt work at all. Now Im lost and dont know what to do. I always appreciate free things, but a broken one is no good and puts me in a catch-22 of either trying to frustratingly figure it out, or just purchase an effects asset that actually works.

If anyone knows of the solution. It would be greatly appreciated. I wouldnt be surprised if I forgot to click a button somewhere in the dark corner of the editor.

Thanks

Bump? Im still having the same issue. lol.

Silly you :stuck_out_tongue:

Just download the HDRP samples. The Particle material is in there :stuck_out_tongue:

Where would that be?
Remember some of us are really new to this.

No problem.
All it takes is to be observant really.

The example is from 2019.4 because this is the version I had open right now, but you will find it in a similar way in next versions of Unity as well.

Go to: Window>Package Manager

Select the suitable category filter in the dropdown,
Then click on the HDRP package, and import the relevant particle shaders.
