Unity price in euros

Hi guys,

I was seeing the price of Unity3D Indie cause late this month I’m thinking in buying it.

But I see that it costs 199USD or 150 EUR.

I don’t think this is correct… at the actual exchange rate it would cost about 133 EUR.

Several stores have real time convertion or simply just have the option to buy in USD.

Unity store have to separated prices for the same product… well at least its better than the ones where the price in USD is equal to the price in EUR…

Or it would cost 223 USD

I think that you can pay in what currency you want (from the list) so just pick the one that is cheapest for you.

You also need to add 25% as you are buying it in europe.

There’s no logic in paying 223USD… It would be paying more than the original price… But that’s just my opinion. The think is that if I pay in EUR, I will pay more than if I choose USD… Why the the option to pay in the exchange rates? A good store is a store that asks always the same value for a product… I think it was valve that had the same problem a few months ago, the online service had the same price in USD and EUR (even worst than Unity shop… way worst), they already changed that but several people where induced in error… same thing here… they are giving the choice of paying more for the same product… I now that in in the end, its the user that chooses that but… Its deceiving…

Just my 2 cents, I will try to buy in USD, but some shops don’t let paying in USD if the credit card is european. Guess I will try it out in the end of the month

Please understand that we cannot constantly change our prices to match today’s exact exchange rate from Euros to Dollars. Sure, today that’s the balance, tomorrow it’s something different, two years ago when we set prices for Unity 2.x it was something different yet again. So yes, there’s an offset, there always will be when we offer pricing in different currencies.

Only if you’re an individual and not a business, if you’re a business with a VAT ID then you can avoid the 25% charge.
