does the in game quality in unity pro look better than the indie version, if not what are the main differences?

Quality, no, features yes.

shit man, dont want to complain or anything but i dont get why the pro version has to be $1200, i guess they have their reasons, ive looked at the differences though and nothing pops out to be worth that much

Carry on using the free one then. Unless you start making (very) large amounts of money, there’s nothing forcing you to buy Pro. If you don’t see anything worth paying for, don’t. In time, maybe you’ll come to see some value in some of the missing features. Or maybe you won’t.

alright i ll keep that in mind, but i will say the indie version is way better than the games i made in blender on my ispiron mini 10 lmfao

The free version is pretty damned good, especially for the price. Most amateur/hobbyist/indie groups won’t be able to push it to the limits anyway, unless you count just throwing a lot of overly complicated models at it.

but thats the thing, i can model fairly good, its just in game, they dont look like they do in videos i see, im not expecting to make battlefield 2 or bioshock, just something that doesnt look so… ehh

If the videos you’re referring to are of commercial AAA games, then a lot of that has to do with art assets; such games have large teams of first-rate artists generating the assets, and that’s largely why these games look so good.

Although a good engine can help a game look good, it can’t make a game look good - that’s still up to you and/or your artists.

thanks man i ll keep that in mind, and ha i wish i had artist, im just glad im not on my netbook anymore and on a real computer with 3ds max and unity
