unity reading custom FBX attributes

For a bunch of features, I have been interested in seeing if unity can read data i have stores in custom attributes i have added to my character in Maya. is this possible?

I never used it myself, but with an AssetPostprocessor, especially with OnPostprocessGameObjectWithUserProperties you should be able to process the custom properties and do something with it. You propably want to attach a custom script to the imported object inside this function and set variables on that script to the values of your properties.
