Unity refuses to open on my mac! (423883)

I have recently downloaded and installed unity. We use it at work and I wanted to get to grips with it in my spare time. However unity just refuses to start…well it actually starts but no window appears so i navigate to new scene/project. At this point it crashes straight away!

I also run Parallels on my mac and have downloaded unity for windows just to test…and it does the same thing!!!

Please help.

here is a link to the bug report. Im no programmer so have no idea what im looking for. I had a programmer friend take a look and he said something about the app requesting memory from the kernal and it failed and also some other nits that he wouldnt be able to tell what it was.
