UNITY REFUSING REFUND WHEN DEAL TIMERS ARE WRONG

I purchased a lightning deal after the deal began, the deals are starting 2 min before world time, my order was purchased at 6.59pm gmt yetsrday the deal was activated at 6.58pm gmt, unity are claiming the deals start on the hour, WHAT RUBBISH GO CHECK THE DEAL TIMERS AGAINST THE WORLD CLOCK, YOUR TIMERS ARE RUNNING 2 MINUTES EARLY, HERE IS SPLIT SCREEN SHOWING DEAL MINUTES LEFT IS 41 BUT WORLD CLOCK SHOWS 43 MINUTES LEFT UNTIL THE HOUR, SO YOUR DEALS ARE ACTIVATING AT 58 MINUTES OF THE HOUR

I WANT A DAMN REFUND OF MY OVERPAYMENT

I would recommend creating a ticket in the support System.

If someone can help you its them.

already did, they replied by telling me i ordered 2 min before the deal was active, i mean would anybody be that insane to be watching the clock go down to 00 but order 1 min before a price reduction?, i rechecked the timer clocks just now and they ppear to have been re aligned with world clock so looks like they win now and i have no leg to stand on even though i know i did it properly

JUST WORKED OUT WHAT WENT WRONG, THE TIMERS ARE LINKED WITH YOUR WINDOWS DESKTOP TIME , NOW MY WINDOWS TIME WAS SET TO AUTOMATIC BUT WAS 2 MIN FAST SO THE DEALS STARTED 2 MIN EARLY LINKED TO MY WINDOWS TIME, THATS NOT FAIR

if you watch one of the deal timers and then change your windows clock the timer changes also, this should be illegal!!! them timers should be set to run down at a world time not depending on your windows clock.

Hey!

I’ve tried reproducing the issues your advising but I am not seeing the times change when I change the time of my computer in Windows.

I’d suggest continuing in the support ticket for any resolution. That team are responsible for A$ questions.

HERE IS NOW VIDEO PROOF, UNITY HAVE EMAILED ME SAYING THEY HAVE CHECKED THE TIMERS AND THEY ARE FINE

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SEE THIS AS THEY ARE REFUSING THIS IS TRUE

thank you for the email confirming that indeed the clocks can be adjusted by my pc clock, i have emailed you a suggestion to settle this matter

for anyone reading this with the intention of purchasing a lightning deal please make sure your system clock is accurate so that you have no problems even if your clock is set to automatic just re check it

yes, counter time changes, if change pc time.

after time change:

Thank you for your confirmation

Please stop buying from the asset store. It is filled with dark patterns.

(like how Refund Policy has a green shield icon with a checkmark in front, implying you are protected and you can easily get refunds, but the reality is you can’t really get refunds easily, if at all, from the asset store, even though it’s illegal for them to not offer them in certain countries).

And using client time for the timer is kind of a noob mistake.

Don’t buy more stuff than you absolutely need to from Unity.

And for the record I can also confirm the countdown timer uses client system clock.

Firstly, please do not spam multiple threads about the issue. I’m very sorry you are frustrated with this but spamming our forums with separate discussion points is just going to confuse things for users and clog their thread lists.

I can’t promise that I will get a different outcome for you with regards to the situation but let me just get an official word from the Asset Store on this and come back to you.

please delete the other threads…thank you

thank you

maybe retry it again as unity have now confirmed it does happen in a email i recieved, defo unfair

i have now recieved a refund of the overpayment thank you

Yeah, Support just got back to me. The Asset Store have also spun up a ticket regarding the timers to see if this can be improved for the future.
