Hi there,
If the Unity Remote happens to cut off from playing, on the device, can we assume a crash in XCode even tho no error is reported?
unity remote doesn’t use xcode. It is a standalone app, which networks with your game running in unity editor. That was my experience when I used it a while ago.
hmm.
ok thanks.
I like it for its quick use, touch the test system etc.
It is very glitchy
ok. more so, in terms of sensitivity than XCode? I dont know if you can call XCode glitchy, but it is much more sensitive than just running Unity.
Why do you keep talking about xcode? It sounds like you don’t understand it’s purpose or how anything works at all. If you have any confusion, just ask us on the forums and we will be happy to explain what it all is and how it fits together.
No. Not sure really.
I guess my thinking is since they both, XCode and the Remote use the device. So i guess i am, just drawing a common thread. I understand that the remote is just using a video feed of types?
Unity remote doesn’t use XCode. Built apps with XCode on your iOS device can’t operate through Unity Remote. Unity Remote is used only to transfer Touch data from your device to the Editor during Editor Play.
Right.
Then unity editor will send back a horribly badly compressed image of what the game will look like - a video stream - to the remote.
It is really just another app <> unity talking to each other. XCode is not involved.
Yah. I get it.
Thanks.
Still freaking cool tho.
The guy who thought of it deserves and handshake.
