I’m using Unity 5.6.3f1, and when I use Unity Remote 4 or 5 (tried iPhone, iPad and Galaxy S6), the picture shows up nicely, but touches are terrible. They respond a little bit, sometimes worse than other times. And lately I have to touch around on the screen for a minute for Unity to finally receive one touch.
Any ideas what that is? I believe it started happening when I upgraded to the latest Unity version not very long time ago.
I also changed my Editor Settings up and down, couldn’t get it to work either.
I always found the Unity remote flaky at the best of times. Try turning off Bluetooth; I’ve seen suggestions in the past that that helps. What’s your Unity Remote Resolution set to? Try Downsize if you haven’t already. Also try setting a lower resolution of your game window in the editor. I’m not 100% sure if it just streams that resolution as-is, but if it does and you have a very high resolution set then that might slow things down.
I wrote a tool that I sell on the asset store, Hdg Remote Debug, because I was frustrated with the Unity Remote. My tool allows you to tweak values from the editor on the build running live on your device. So you run the build on your device, and then connect to it from the editor, and you can tweak fields, turn on/off components, game objects etc. Maybe it could help you!
Ok, I’ll try a few more things.
It used to work pretty well after they went away from using wifi for that. So I feel like it must be the unity version.
